Method

  1. Saute onions, carrots, sweet potato and celery in the olive until soft, turn the heat up and add in the meat to brown.⁠ ⁠
  2. When meat has browned add in the mushrooms and tomato paste, mix to combine.⁠ ⁠
  3. Add in the rest of the ingredients and cook on low for 2 hours.⁠ ⁠

  • 1 onion finely diced (1/2 package ready diced)⁠
  • 2 carrots finely diced (1/2 package ready diced)⁠
  • 1 sweet potato finely diced (1/2 package ready diced)⁠
  • 3 stalks celery finely diced⁠
  • 250 g beef strips⁠
  • 500 g fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste⁠
  • 1/2 cup barley, rinsed⁠
  • 6 cups boiling water⁠
  • 2 tbsp chicken powder⁠⁠
  • 1/2 tsp tumeric⁠
  • ⁠ Salt and pepper
  • Garlic powder
