Method
- Fry onions in oil until soft and translucent, keep stirring so they don’t burn
- Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
- Pour in water, mix and simmer for 40 mins
- Serve topped with cheese.

French Onion Soup
Ingredients
- 6 large onions or 3 packets, diced
- 1/4 oil
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- black pepper
- 6 cups boiling water
- Grated Emmental cheese - for serving
