Meat and Barley
Method
- Saute onions, carrots, sweet potato and celery in the olive until soft, turn the heat up and add in the meat to brown.
- When meat has browned add in the mushrooms and tomato paste, mix to combine.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients and cook on low for 2 hours.

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion finely diced (1/2 package ready diced)
- 2 carrots finely diced (1/2 package ready diced)
- 1 sweet potato finely diced (1/2 package ready diced)
- 3 stalks celery finely diced
- 250 g beef strips
- 500 g fresh mushrooms, diced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup barley, rinsed
- 6 cups boiling water
- 2 tbsp chicken powder
- 1/2 tsp tumeric
- Salt and pepper
- Garlic powder
